We explore weird and wonderful celebrity baby names and see what sort of christening gifts pass muster with the rich and famous and even royalty…
Moon Unit, Dweezil and Diva Muffin
Children of: Frank Zappa.
With his eccentric style, you can definitely tell that Frank was a pioneer in the naming division, for sure. Moon Unit appeared on her father’s hit single “Valley Girl” when she was 14. Dweezil is now a guitarist, as is brother Ahmet, Diva Muffin is an artist.
Child of: Kim Kardashian & Kanye West.
Beyonce and Jay-Z gave baby North West personalised Christian Dior booties, a three-piece sterling silver Elsa Padova baby set with her name engraved on it. It’s said they also sent Kim a Swarovski crystal-studded high chair ($12,000) for her baby shower gift. Then, of course, Kim and Kanye had another child – a son that they called Saint West.
Child of: Mike Myers and Kelly Myers.

Mike Myers said on David Letterman, “Me and my wife Kelly hate Sundays,” and they named their baby in hopes of turning that around. That’s one way of doing it, I suppose. I wonder if it worked though? I tend to go for coffee on a Monday – solves a lot!
Child of: Kate Middleton & Prince William.
Pippa Middleton really went all in – it’s reported that she spent about $11,000 on her gift to her newly born nephew. Splurging the cash on a traditional sculpture mould of the baby’s feet, it’s not hard to see how excited the woman was to have the new baby in her life.
Princess Tiaamii, Jett, Junior and Bunny
Children of: Katie Price & Peter Andre.

Husband Peter was happy to help by coming up with Tiaamii himself by combining his mother’s name (Thea) with Katie’s mother’s name (Amy). Katie said they chose the first part of her name because she was “our princess”.
“Katie always loved the name Princess but everyone thought it was a bit over the top,” Peter told OK! Magazine in 2007.
Child of: Jason Lee & Beth Riesgraf.
Jason and Beth named their boy after a song on the indie rock band Grandaddy’s 2000 album The Sophtware Slump. “The opening track, ‘He’s Simple, He’s Dumb, He’s the Pilot,’ absolutely blew their mind when they first heard it.
Some things just aren’t intended to be names…
Child of: Gwyneth Paltrow & Chris Martin
We’re all quite used to the name of this now sadly ‘consciously uncoupled’ couple (no really, remember that was how they described their separation). But when the news emerged that they called their daughter Apple, everyone thought it was a very strange choice.
Harper Seven Beckham
Child of: David & Victoria Beckham.
The Beckhams reportedly shelled out $240,000 on a baby nursery decorations for baby Harper Seven. But of course: this is Posh Spice we’re talking about.
Child of: Bob Geldof & Paula Yates.
God knows where that came from. The Geldof family, who have experienced a lot of sadness over the years, bless them, seem like a tight knit family – whatever your thoughts of Bob!
Child of: David Duchovny & Tea Leoni.

Perhaps David Duchovny and Téa Leoni were taking a stand against the trend of unique celebrity baby names when they decided to name their son Kyd. No matter what the reason was for chosing this special name, we can definitely see what they did there.
